Bourdain Day

We celebrate the life and legacy of Anthony Bourdain. It is hard to believe it’s been two years since we lost you. You taught us to expand our horizons, to be curious, to travel, to walk in someone else’s shoes for a day. Through food you broke down cultural barriers and created lasting friendships. You taught us all so many valuable life lessons – your legacy will live on forever Chef.

You left us with many words of wisdom, here are a few of our favorites:

“Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you.”

“Your body is an amusement park not a temple. Enjoy the ride.”

“If there’s not a fifty percent chance of diarrhea, it’s not really worth eating”

While he surely left his mark, we lost a good one far too soon. If you or anyone you know is struggling with mental illness, please seek help. These issues run rampant in the food industry, and it is something that is rarely discussed. The website below is a community that offers support to those who need help. It has numerous resources and will connect you to others that are in a situation similar to your own.http://chefswithissues.com/
