Hello from Ithaca!
With the full on arrival of fall and the icy whispers of winter that we see on roofs and car tops at dawn our food desires lean towards the rich and hearty… Or sugar laden cupcakes? Either works for us. The beautiful creations you see above were made by our customer and neighbor Gimme Coffee’s bakeshop. These cupcakes were a holiday party exclusive but stop by any of their upstate locations year round for sweet treats made with Regional Access products. Oh and the best coffee anywhere of course.
On the new product front… Vulto Creamery! Their Miranda in particular was one of the best and most innovative New York State made cheeses we have had the pleasure of trying this year. Washed with locally made absinthe the little buttons are an absolute must for your holiday cheese case.
We are trying out a new truly local turkey offering this year from Good Life Farm in addition to our usual Stonewood Farm Vermont raised birds. What makes these turkeys special? Let Melissa Madden from Good Life tell you:
Turkeys… at the Good Life, we believe in 100% organic feed, constant pasture rotation and happy, healthy animals. All animals and plants work together at our farm, and the turkeys carry this to the extreme- they tend the young orchard trees, fall-fertilize both trees and asparagus, and bring their unique liveliness to the farm every day. We stand for small farms, humane animal husbandry and organic, ecological agriculture, and we believe our turkeys really show this to best effect!
If you have any questions about Good Life Farm or Stonewood Farm turkeys you can call Anna at 607-319-5150 ext #14 or email firstname.lastname@example.org Order Monday for same week delivery from now through Christmas. Turkeys will ship frozen to ensure shelf life.
