Honey, Starthistle, Howland’s 12/1#
Starthistle comes from western New York, it is a purplish plant that grows about 2 or 3 ft tall. Although it grows in other places in New York, it doesn’t yield honey. The PH in the soil most everywhere else, doesn’t allow the flower to yield nectar. Starthistle is a very light amber honey, similar to clover. The flavor is very sweet and has its own distinct taste.
Heated to 110 degrees; strained through wire mesh. That’s it.
